The battery has been used extensively over the last few years and its operating time has started to decrease after charging. As a guideline, if the operating time is cut in half, it is time to replace your rechargeable batteries.

Some lithium-ion, and Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries can be recharged more than 2,000 times. They might also offer storage life of up to 10 years.

For samples, the lead time is about 7 days. For mass production, the lead time is 20-30 days after receiving the deposit payment. The lead times become effective when (1) we have received your deposit, and (2) we have your final approval for your products. If our lead times do not work with your deadline, please go over your requirements with your sale. In all cases we will try to accommodate your needs. In most cases we are able to do so.

Don’t overdo it.

Overcharging occurs when the device or battery is plugged into a charger after full charge has been reached and may reduce battery life. Battery University recommends that nickel- and lithium-based batteries be stored with a 40 percent state-of-charge.

With appropriate care and use, you should expect 2-7 years from most rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable cordless phone batteries can last 1-2 years with the right use and care.

The two main categories of batteries are primary and secondary. Essentially, primary cells are batteries which cannot be recharged while secondary cells are rechargeable.

Lithium-ion batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are highly durable and are great for longevity, these batteries can last for about two to three years or 300-500 charge cycles.

The main difference is that an alkaline battery starts at 1.5 volts and gradually drops to less than 1.0 volts. NiMH batteries stay at about 1.2 volts for most of their discharge cycle. Once alkaline batteries discharge to 50% capacity, it will usually be delivering a lower voltage than a NiMH battery.

In general, restoring full power to your rechargeable batteries can take anywhere from one to four hours, although your experience can vary widely based on the physical capacity of your battery pack.

Avoid temperature extremes, both high and low, when using or storing lithium-ion batteries. Elevated temperatures can accelerate degradation of almost every battery component and can lead to significant safety risks, including fire or explosion. If a laptop or cellphone is noticeably hot while it’s charging, unplug it.

In Lithium-ion batteries a film builds up on both electrodes with each charge and discharge cycle which blocks the movement of ions. As the electrodes become ever more covered in these materials their ability to be part of the chemical reaction needed to make the battery work degrades.

All chargers switch off automatically when battery is fully charged.

The higher the rating, the longer it will power a device before needing to be charged again.
